5 p.m. – Explore the downtown core
Just steps from the mighty St. Lawrence River, downtown Trois-Rivières bustles with activity, from its dynamic and colourful festivals to its many restaurants, bars and entertainment venues.
10 p.m. Relax
The day is over and it’s time to rest up for tomorrow. The hosts at our charming bed & breakfasts and cozy auberges are ready to welcome you for a comfortable night’s sleep. They’ll go all out to offer you a thoroughly pleasing experience. If you prefer a hotel, the downtown core offers a number of options. 9 a.m. – Admire the charming features of the old city
From Harbourfront Park to Rue des Ursulines, stroll through the historic district of Trois-Rivières, North America’s second-oldest French-speaking city. Climb the monumental staircase and read about each milestone in the history of the city as you make your way to the top, where you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the St. Lawrence River—the same vista admired by the early colonists. Continue your walk, taking the time to peruse the historical panels and distinct Trois-Rivières architecture. Stop by the fountain in Place Pierre-Boucher, which, with its colourful and playful water jets, is a sight to behold day or night. It too tells a story!
Noon – Time for lunch!
Trois-Rivières has many choices, especially if you’re a foodie! The riverside Café Frida offers a menu that changes with the seasons and chef’s inspirations, but its specialty coffees are always a must! Or head to Le Pot – Papilles et Cocktails, where skilled mixologists will prepare you a cocktail as tasty as it is unique while you browse through a menu featuring premium local products. 1:30 p.m. – Museums on your mind?
With your museums pass in hand, you’re ready to take a trip back in time. For just $30, you’ll have access to 14 institutions that will allow you to explore and discover the history and culture of Trois-Rivières. Whether on foot or aboard a tour bus, choose your first stop: Musée québécois de culture populaire and its entertaining exhibitions; Boréalis and its history of the pulp and paper industry; the Old Prison of Trois-Rivières and its troubled past; or Musée des Ursulines and its history of helping the community. Once you’ve finished with one museum, move on to the next!
5:30 p.m. – Enjoy a culinary night out
Trois-Rivières is home to a number of renowned chefs waiting to impress you. All you have to do is decide where to enjoy your evening meal—no easy task! But whether you choose the delicious menu offered by Buck Pub gastronomique, the tempting tapas bar at Poivre Noir, or the charming creations at Bistro L’Ancêtre, your taste buds are in for a treat.

8:30 a.m. – Savour a delicious brunch

10 a.m. – Take a walk through the gardens at Our Lady of the Cape Shrine
An oasis of peace and tranquility, the gardens at Our Lady of the Cape Shrine will soothe your soul. Amble along the landscaped paths and take in the view of the magnificent St. Lawrence River. There are even picnic tables for visitors. Be sure to save a little time to admire the basilica itself, with its impressive stained glass windows and historic chapel dating back to 1720. There’s no better way to relax after a busy start to your day!
2 p.m. – Recharge at KiNipi spa & bains nordiques
