Outlandish puppets, intriguing characters and bizarre objects all come to life during this summer’s evening performances by Théâtre Insolite (Unusual Theatre) in Vieux-Trois-Rivières. This year, the seventh edition of stage plays presented by the Corporation de développement culturel de Trois-Rivières and Les Sages Fous is being offered free of charge on three weekends: June 19 and 20, July 10 and 11, and August 28 and 29. The curtain rises at 8 p.m.
A variety of theatre companies from Trois-Rivières, Montreal, the U.S. and even France take over Sainte-Cécile Church, inside and out, for the performances. For shows with limited space, members of the public must obtain a free ticket starting at 7 p.m. in front of the Church. Most shows that can only accommodate a smaller audience will be presented more than once on the same evening.
